Offset a few degrees. I set the temp to 80⁰ but I have an external thermometer sensor and it never goes above 77.7⁰ which isn't too bad because I still want the actual temp to be around 78⁰. UPDATE: November shopping, now 5 months later it's getting shaky. In November I set 80, never changed. Yesterday my water was 86⁰! I'm lucky that my livestock (especially expensive fish, my starfish, shrimp and anemones) are still alive. Luckily I caught it in time. Make sure you use an OUTDOOR thermometer. Don't trust the built in.
