Review on 🏝️ Swimline Designer Mattress: Solstice by Jacob Fish

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good and bad I will buy again and again

Have bought this 5 times over the years according to Revain's ordering information. Pros: They're pretty durable. You can rest comfortably in it. The simplified old-school design gives you a perfect tan without tan lines on both your stomach and back. You will serve approximately 2 years with active deployment in Florida. Sufficiently durable cover that protects the inflatable part. The Bad: They keep water between the lid and the air mattress, which needs to be drained or it gets heavy and uncomfortable inside. The pair had minor imperfections such as a faulty baffle (but still serviceable). After about 6 months in the sun, the blue fades to a rather unsightly violet. I would buy again because I haven't found any comparable long-lasting quality yet. but I am looking for the defects mentioned. ******* Update (after the return of the "black and blue" swimline float) - I noticed that I didn't mention initially that one of the nicest features of this Solstice float is that you can float beautifully over the water if you wish. Only likely to get wet when boarding and disembarking as the baffles run east to west and are not absorbed by the sides of the raft. In addition, the pillow is released with Velcro, which is very convenient when you put it on your stomach. We have never had an air leak problem in the last 10-12 years of using 5 of these parts! They just got a bit unsightly with a purple color and cracks on the outer shell. Buy 2 more. ****** Update #2: 6th and 7th purchase are simply overpriced - no problem. A few others (1-2 years old) in the photo. We'll see how the new ones hold up, but I definitely recommend it.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires an outlet
