Review on Attwood 13700 7 Lift Anchor Control by Robert Hayes

This is a great little tether lock for a canoe or kayak. I have it for my canoe. That works great. The only thing I would like is the lock return spring. Initially I bought a cheap 1/4 inch tether that pushed the lock too hard. So when a weight was placed on the lock, the flimsy, cheap rope would just compress and slip through the lock. I bought a nicer 3/8" tether that works great. It's just a bit embarrassing that the thicker cable prevents it from being lowered to the lock, as there is no return spring in the lock. I just use a paddle to push the latch a bit and it locks instantly. There isn't a big one. I can try to attach the recoil spring to the lock myself. I just wish he was alone. Other than that, it's a great SMALL tie lock.
