I was studying at home and bought them for my children's work. I mainly use them at my dining table to elevate work surfaces so I don't have to constantly bend over to check or grade the work. It would be nice if they could be used at an angle, but laying them sideways isn't really usable. But they keep them light. They're not going anywhere, just leaning forward a little. It doesn't really matter to me. I wish the legs had some mechanism so they wouldn't accidentally fold if you slide on them, but it's actually hard to do and I'm just gifted. The surface doesn't let things that actually have rubber feet slide easily. My computer, for example, isn't going anywhere, but I still use the handy pad that comes with it. I use a mouse with a trackball that you don't slide with and it doesn't slide at all due to the rubber charging Mouse and stuff on the tablet. If you have a mouse that you wiggle to move, tilting might not keep it engaged by default as it's designed to glide easily, but other than that you're safe. She is not small. It's actually quite large, but fits easily in my lap with a couple of blankets. It's not too hard for me, but I've seen how it can be for some people. I know I'm great at moving it with a huge 10lb computer on it, but I guess the weight doesn't bother me due to the stability. It feels solid, so I expect that weight when I lift it. I also bought them for my kids to do general art as the surface of the tips and they can draw beautifully. The box perfectly holds your art supplies. I definitely recommend them.
