This thermometer reads a full degree low whether I use it as an ear thermometer or a forehead thermometer. Also, the instructions don't mention any probe covers, and the diagram in the quick start guide shows removing the forehead cap and inserting the probe into the ear, but the listing briefly mentions the use of 'commercially available probe covers'. . I couldn't find their branded cases and thermoscan cases don't fit. I damaged the packaging too badly to return it. If you do decide to give it a try, I recommend taking the time to remove it from its packaging just in case you need to return it.
