*** Be careful if you have a house less than 3000 mΒ². Foot! ***

I bought this to replace an old Netgear DD-WRT router that has failed. My house is 2500 square meters. ft. is over 100 years old, the walls are very thick and I had trouble getting a good wi-fi signal upstairs, farthest from the router. I figured a wi-fi network system would be a good option. Judging by the reviews, Netgear Orbi offers the best value for money. The Orbi main unit definitely looks more attractive on the bookshelf than the old Netgear box. To set up the system, I used the Orbi app on Android. Setup was easy and the router and satellite device connected immediately. On the other hand, reboots between setting changes take a long time. I replaced the SSID and Wi-Fi passcode with my old routers and all my devices (including only 2.4GHz IoT devices) connected immediately. The router's web management UI is fairly basic compared to DD-WRT, but sufficient for my needs. By running speed tests and streaming from multiple devices simultaneously, I was able to easily utilize my 100Mbps broadband network from anywhere in the house. about the constant loss of Wi-Fi connection. When I turned off the satellite device, I had a perfect connection. The solution was to place the auxiliary device as far away from the main device as possible and reduce the signal strength of the main device to 75% of the web interface. It took a while to find the right setting in the web interface, so it's probably something a layman wouldn't easily understand. Overall, Orbi seems like a solid product, but for homes under 3,000mΒ². ft. , the satellite unit is not really needed.
