I bought 3 different prints (pineapple, palm tree and tropical bird), pineapple was the only one that had threads INSIDE. The other two have ties on the outside. All the ones I've bought fit different waist sizes. One of my boys is very skinny and needs an adjustable waist. My other son is taller and fits perfectly with a loose waist. I recommend this brand (in any print) for your child.
