Review on Arkon Mounts TAB-CM117 Extension Arm Tablet Mount - Windshield Suction, Black (Retail) by Jerry Chembola

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you need something to hold something, this will do.

I use this with a Samsung Tab Pro 12.2 inch and have tried it in a Mazda 6 and the latest GMC full size van, Mercedes Sprinter and Ford Transit. You attach the suction cup to the windshield and place your hand on it. It's a solid device. I use it in landscape mode, but this device holds a tablet even in portrait mode, with tabs that hold the tablet on the sides. Still, it's pretty quick and easy to get the tablet in and out. The suction cup is incredibly strong and I'm not worried about it coming loose. It comes with four shorter and four longer tines, so you can adjust it to suit your needs. The tablet is pretty accurate. It fits 12.2 snugly with four longer ones. I've found that by attaching a suction cup rotated slightly to the left I can get the perfect angle for the screen, especially in the GMC. and would have been just a few inches longer and the head could turn a bit more just to be sure, but with a little effort I've always managed to position the tablet exactly where I wanted it. The way you can adjust the tines from side to side is handy. It comes with tiny rubber stoppers to insert into the rails to keep the pins from slipping out, but I can't get them to fit. Wasn't a problem. I'd like it even more if it came with a piece of rubber to fit over the arm so where it sits on the dash can absorb some shock, but that's not really an issue. Does what it should and makes a solid and well thought-out impression. Good design, especially for the price. Thank you Arcon.
