Do they absorb moisture? Yes? Are they rechargeable? no Following the directions on the box itself, I placed two packets in my 1000 watt microwave for 4 minutes and 30 seconds on each side as directed on the front of the box. The first ride went well but I did notice a slight smell of burning but nothing to worry about. After the second obligatory microwave, I let them cool for a few minutes before checking them out. When I opened the door I found that both packages had been torn open and their contents were puking all over the inside of my microwave. Apparently the plastic cloth they use for the pouches wasn't microwave safe as the instructions say. Don't waste your money, get something else.
