Review on πŸ’§ iSpring US31 Tankless Filtration System with Enhanced Capacity by Brian Delgado

Surprisingly easy to install

I was really surprised at how easy the filter was to install. Adapter for draining the existing cold water line. I added a built in lockout to the flexible plastic supply line so I could turn off the water without having to crawl under the sink for easy changing of the filters later. My local hardware store had a brass in-line filter with compression fittings for a very reasonable price. In general, the installation set convinced me. The manufacturer included a high quality plumbing system with the kit, all the fittings needed for installation and even put teflon tape in the roll! A word of caution lest you make the same mistake I made. When you remove the plastic from the filters and put them back into the unit, take extra care to keep the O-ring in its groove to ensure a good seal. The instructions recommend using food grade silicone if you feel it is necessary. You are not joking. I misaligned one of the o-rings and when I put water in the system it leaked. It was my fault, not the department's fault. I turned the water off again and put the o-ring in the right position, after that everything was fine. When it comes time to change the filters, I buy a tube of food grade silicone. Otherwise I have nothing to complain about with this filter. The water is clean and tasty again - we don't have to buy bottled water anymore!
