This is a great item to study high energy bills! I bought this product after my electric bill went up by $200 and wanted to find the culprit. I have no experience with electrical issues and this product was extremely easy to use. You simply connect the device to the meter and the meter plugs into the wall. The meter shows how many watts the device is using and whether it is using more power than calculated. I also used this to test the "vampire energy" theory and found that devices draw power when plugged in but off. Very handy gadget to have at home!
