Accurate results! Very good workmanship

Accurate results! Very well built. Unlike other white meters, this one plugs easily into any outlet, is designed for large devices, and lets you know if the device is using power when it's off. This is also extremely helpful if you are running a generator and want to know how much load you are putting on it. It can be a hassle to use a regular ammeter on your switch. You don't have to calculate the power or wonder if there are other things on the same circuit. The price is good I recommend.

Rattling Parts but working

There was a rattling noise inside the unit on arrival. Upon opening it to see what was rattling, two nuts and bolts fell out (I now feel more confident plugging it into an outlet). I didn't see where they were supposed to go, so they're still being removed. It works, reads electricity and appears to be accurate. A small cord is nice and makes reading easier. It differs from Kill-A-Watt in that it uses a current transformer to measure current while the old Kill-A-Watt measures current through a…

Great part for permanent RV living or with solar panels

We live in our RV all the time and spend most of our time off the grid (no electricity). We have solar power and can do just fine without electricity, but this article helped us take inventory of the total energy needs for a full life. We were able to determine what each electrical device we have draws in terms of amps and power. It also helped us determine the size of the generator we need for solar support and to run larger appliances like a microwave, hair dryer, George Foreman grill, etc…

Great tool: Multi Tester

I live in Southern California, earthquake country! I bought a small portable generator (Wen 56200i) in order to be able to supply electricity to everything necessary in the house in case of an unfavorable situation. I also bought this THP103 control box to test how much power I really need for my new generator. I went all around my house checking everything with it. Lights, TV, WiFi router, refrigerator, various devices, etc. Thanks to the THP103, I now know exactly how much electricity is…

Useful and easy to use.

I bought this to reduce my electric bill. Great tool for getting a general idea of what's what and boy was surprised items I thought were low power. I've also found that my TVs and satellite receivers use a surprising amount of power when in sleep mode! Now I will use the power plug. Yes, some patients have to wait for the receivers to reset, but doing it at night means only once a day. Water heater, light and other electrical appliances. I suspect it will pay off in the realization of energy…

Ease of use for electrical devices

Same day dispatch, delivered in two days. Using the formula amperes x volts = watts, I calculated that the starting power of the refrigerator is 720 watts. The counter shows 718 watts. Very close. Easy to use. A slide switch to select watts or amps. Large, easy-to-read numbers. The attached cord is a nice feature. A meter is easier to use than one that plugs into an outlet. I bought a meter to find out the starting power (impulse) of devices and to find out what size generator to buy in case of

Great device for solving high electricity bill problems!

This is a great item to study high energy bills! I bought this product after my electric bill went up by $200 and wanted to find the culprit. I have no experience with electrical issues and this product was extremely easy to use. You simply connect the device to the meter and the meter plugs into the wall. The meter shows how many watts the device is using and whether it is using more power than calculated. I also used this to test the "vampire energy" theory and found that devices draw power…

I have never seen anything other than zeros and once 001

This does NOT work. I put this FAULTY tool in an outdoor drain pump. During heavy rains, I installed a sump pump in case it was pumping out more groundwater than the French drains alone. I've never seen any significant current draw that should be drawing several amps with the pump on in this review. I toggled between power and current readings but still got NO DISPLAY. I doubted the pump was working and got out manually by raising the float switch and it works and there isn't a significant…

Accuracy is questionable

The first screen unit ordered did not light up properly. Exchanged for a second one. Seemed to work well BUT when tested against another competing brand both differ significantly on the watt scale. I don't know who to trust right now. Both have been used on a coffee bean grinder of known power, and both have shown different readings on a coffee bean grinder of manufacturer's stated power (which can also be tampered with - who will you trust?). I think in this day and age such a product should…
