I have combined this with Seagate 3TB 5400RPM and Hitachi 1TB 7200RPM (both external). The average transfer speed was around 100 MB/s. It supports UASP, which benefits external SSDs. It includes both a low profile mount and a standard profile mount (which wasn't listed so I'm grateful for that). The driver installation was problem-free in WIN7 64 bit. Overall great quality if you don't want to upgrade your motherboard to have USB 3.0 support. Definitely recommend. -1 star for lack of documentation (assuming you have problems). EDIT: April 21, 2014 - I connected this card to an external SSD in a UASP compatible enclosure. The average transfer rate varies between 150-160 MB/s. After downloading the driver from the Sedna website, the average transfer speed was 220-230 MB/s. I copied to a SATA II SSD so it might even be faster. It was a real pleasure to recover 44GB of data in minutes!
