I was able to easily install them in my shed with exposed wooden posts. I always like the instructions that tell you the size of the screw head / what tools are needed - there is no such thing here. I ended up going with my punch and 1/2" 13mm (I think) after drilling the pilot hole. The punch came through quickly and I did it in the dark in about 15 minutes. The pin that attaches the posts/ Grips for bikes seem a bit small in diameter, our 3 mountain bikes and 1 kids BMX still have them and I think they will.
