Review on Nalgene 💧 OTF Everyday Water Bottle by Andre Pendergrass

I love the water bottle, it's easy to hold with one hand and doesn't leak. However, as many reviewers have noted, the rubber in the lid became slightly moldy. If you're not in the mood to clean your water bottle EVERY day after use, I wouldn't recommend it. Yes you can replace the cap but the whole point of buying a water bottle is I want it to be green the cap is plastic and if I have to replace it once or more a year there is nothing green in it. I did some research and read a few reviews when making the purchase decision, so I was aware of the possibility of rubber blacking. First I cleaned it every time after use and everything was fine. I couldn't always empty my water bottle in the office and mostly refilled and refilled it the next day. After a while I started taking it home to wash once a week and then mold started to form. I didn't realize it was mold until I could obviously scrub it off no matter how hard I tried. I left it in lemon juice and water over the weekend and nothing came off. I don't want to throw it away, but I also don't want to trade it for the same cap. I bought a bottle about a year ago but only recently started using it every day. I've been using it for probably about 4 months and have been drinking this mold mixed water for several weeks now. In any case, Nalgene needs to change the material, or at least give us the option of replacing it with a cap without rubber.
