This barbecue thermometer is simple and sophisticated in every way. As far as the physical product goes, it's pretty simple in the sense that you have a "transmitter" block that the temperature sensors connect to, and then a receiver that has all the basic controls and a display. There are multiple keys, and each has many options depending on how you press them. I didn't have time to use all the functions because there are so many (timer, temperature alarm, type of meat, meat preparation, etc.). And since there are four sensors, you can select all of these functions for each sensor individually. While all of these options make navigation a bit difficult at first, they make this product a lot more versatile once you get the hang of it. I've had many different meat thermometers in the past and this one is just as good but a little cheaper and easier to use as you can do whatever you need to do wherever you are without even having to go to the grill itself. I'm curious to see if this thermometer will be of any use in the oven. It should be noted that the "transmitter" part is not heat resistant, so keep it away from hot metal of the grill, oven, etc. Although I haven't done any ultra-precise testing, the temperature readings appear to be accurate. or at least accurate enough for your general grilling needs. Overall, it's very easy to use and does its job well. For the price unbeatable!
