Given some of the negative reviews about it not getting a signal compared to the stock whip antenna, I figured worst case scenario I'd just return it as non-working. In a few minutes I took off the "whip" and put on this shorter one. There is no noticeable signal drop. I live in the mountains where losing my cell phone signal is just a way of life, but my car radio still sounds loud and clear. No fall. There is no "fuzzy" reception. It looks great and works great. I haven't put it through a car wash yet, but I imagine it will handle the process better than a whip. I would buy another one and recommend it. Update: I've driven it through several car washes near me and no problems. The reception seems to be just as good as with the "whip". Wherever I go, the reception is the same as before. Very happy with it and not a whip just waiting to be bent!
