Review on 🎴 Unveiling the Artful World of Japanese Origami: Innovative Folding Projects Inside by Gelin Battle

Not Japanese, not double-sided. Very thin, practical use only

This paper is advertised and labeled "Double Sided" and "Japanese".1) It is not double sided. It may have been smudged (done) on the back, but the back is a dull white that doesn't add to your creation. Minus three stars for misleading advertising.2) This paper was manufactured in the PRC: People's Republic of China. From years of experience with Japanese origami paper, I don't recognize a single pattern. I don't think it can be called "Japanese" paper in any way. I've attached an image whose aesthetics, in my humble opinion, are more reflective of traditional Chinese aesthetics, which are valuable in their own right. 3) Colors are muted. Muted colors significantly reduce the attractiveness of the paper. On the attached picture the papers look better than they really are. A moj-pog or top coat might work, but these colors are less attractive than more expensive papers. 4) The paper is thin and can be useful for practicing new patterns. 5) The paper does not tear easily, although it tears faster than chiogami (fiber-based) washi paper. This paper can offer reasonable value for money if labeled more appropriately. The gold pattern is good.

Pros
  • SIMPLE ENOUGH for beginners, complex enough for experienced users.
Cons
  • Damaged
