This worked SUPER on my Alpine head unit. I needed a USB port for Android's auto function and didn't want the USB plug just dangling off my dash, so I got one and it fitted almost perfectly into my 2001 Suburban's cigarette lighter port. I ended up having to rest the plastic tab in the dash hole that held the original lighter. Took 2 seconds with the file and it popped out and was a nice snug fit so no nut was needed on the back. Now I have a USB port and an HDMI port if I want to play something on the device's screen. **UPDATE** Product is defective. I've noticed that if I hit a bump in the road, Android will automatically turn off and then stop working altogether. I unplugged the radio, unplugged it and plugged the USB cable into the radio straight from my phone and it worked great for about a month. I tried again and it doesn't connect at all so I removed it entirely and just used a USB cable straight from the radio to the phone.
