These socks keep me warm and don't bunch up on my calves. They look like compression stockings to me. I'm 6ft 2in, wear size 12 shoes, have small calves and cold socks fit a little on my knees. I adjust them so that they don't reach my knees. up to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. With my short socks and sweatpants, my ankles and calves were cold and they are usually comfortable in these socks. From the mid-60s, they are finally too warm for me. I haven't warned them about skiing yet, but I'm sure they'll stay in the trunk.
