I used this antenna as an accessory for my Garmin Alpha 100 dog tracking system, it works great while driving and the Garmin tracker is in the truck. The connector on the bottom of the inside is a female TNC, so I bought a male TNC to male SMA cable to connect to the Garmin's antenna. The average frequency the Alpha system uses is 153.210 with the SWR meter, which can easily be adjusted to 1.2 SWR using the adjustment screw on the inside of the base. Much cheaper than additional antennas from the dog hunting store and works great. You need to remove the paint and any residue where you want to stick it. And notice how the antenna wobbles on the outer base, you'll want it to fold if hit by a branch, if done wrong it will bend and possibly detach.
