This makes them easier to hold, but it would be much better if they had a rough texture to make them even better to hold. I like the wide opening for a better grip. I totally agree with whoever wrote the suggestions above. I am old and as a result the skin on my fingers has become very smooth which makes it very difficult to grip and hold the clippers. I often cut my fingers or toes because I lose grip as soon as I apply pressure. Last time I used it, I put some tape on them to get a better hold - that helped a bit. Before I use them again, I plan to use a metal file or sandpaper to create a texture that's easier to hold. I understand it's almost impossible to find clips with a roughly textured grip. I have over a dozen clippers and they all have smooth handles. If you make them with a rough texture in the future please let me know - I'll probably buy a pair.
