We bought one of the usual UBS microscopes just for jogging and immediately realized that it was unsuitable: it was too heavy to hold in our hands, and the "tripod" in the kit was not worth mentioning "was standing". do. After searching a bit we bought this stand. Very glad we did. This stand and a $40 USB microscope make for an amazingly high quality microscope for home use. This is a much better quality stand than I expected for the price. Assembly was easy after looking at the included instructions. The scope is held securely. The height adjustment is quite easy. There are only two main disadvantages. Light intensity is not adjustable. They're fairly bright, which is generally good, but might be too bright for some applications. It would be nice to reduce the intensity. More importantly, the stand could actually use adjustable legs. It comes with four fixed-height legs and unfortunately wobbles a bit even on flat surfaces. Adjustable feet or at least two of them can be adjusted, that would really help. Also, keep in mind that the pouch that comes with it isn't very convenient for storage. To use the case, you basically need to disassemble the stand, store it, and then reassemble it for each use. It's not worth it. However, this is a very good case and we've made good use of it elsewhere.
