So far it runs great

My 2007 VW GTI has clocked 194,000 miles and it is starting to use oil at the manufacturer's maximum rate of one liter per 900 miles. I decided to take a chance and replace this part and now it uses about a liter per 4000 miles. The lowest oil consumption I have ever seen in this almost new car is 1 liter per 5000 miles. I therefore consider it a resounding success and quite acceptable for a car given its mileage. I think this particular PCV with check valve will be short lived. But for 3 liters of oil and 4 minutes to install I can change it at every oil change and still make progress. I'll just watch the oil level every other fill up and when it comes back up I'll change the PCV again. VW replaced my 4x under warranty and their last iteration lasted about 120,000 miles. However, this was a different, more difficult to access design.
