This scooter is very well built. Assembly instructions were simple but adequate. The brakes worked very well when properly adjusted. The footrest is big enough for adult feet, plenty of space. A footrest is attached to the underside of the running board. This is the only downside we found, as there is very little clearance where the footboard is installed. You don't have to ground much. We have a concrete road where one side of the intentional "expansion crack" is slightly higher than the other (about 1 1/2 inches). Driving from side to side caused the footboard to bottom out, causing the scooter to come to an abrupt stop. Otherwise this is a great product!
