"No power adapter required". Sort of like that. We bought this to replace a broken adapter in one of our courses. It's little used, but the projector has been reported to flicker on several occasions during classes. On multiple devices, I've been able to confirm that the laptop loses connection with the projector, causing Windows to re-detect the video output device. Speaking to Startech tech support, I was told that this sounds like an issue when attempting to connect a USB to microUSB cable to the adapter to provide additional power. He also reported that this is more common on Mac computers. So keep that in mind when considering this adapter. Let's see if that solves my problem or not.
