Review on General Tools 823 Protractor Increments by Victor Ceja

This is one of those tools I couldn't believe I lived without. The instrument is well finished with finely engraved markings for the rules. They are very accurate and the angle measurement is accurate to 1/10th of a degree. I would give 5 stars if it had an on/off button. It turns off with a timer. The battery must be pulled out to switch off. battery connection problem. Mine died 8 hours later. I thought maybe the battery in the kit was bad so I put a new one in. It will not work. I ended up taking it apart and putting a rubber mouse pad behind the weak battery post to keep it in contact. It's working fine now, but I'm curious how long it will last. Unfortunately, the best alternative is made by Bosch and costs around $200! Similar brands in this price range appear to use the same flow meter and slip ring head. This is a great tool but still quite difficult to maintain.
