Expensive downgrade: NOT for video editing in Premiere Pro

I can't speak for gaming with KF but I can say I'm very disappointed with this one for Adobe Premiere Pro. I've been using the i5-9600K for a long time and was ready for an upgrade. I knew the i7-9700KF didn't have integrated graphics, but I had no idea how that would affect the Premier Pro since I'm using a GTX 970 graphics card. After a series of tests, my result is a 25% drop in performance compared to the 9600K. It looks like Premiere Pro can now use BOTH the onboard GPU on the 9600K and GTX 970. I made a video in 7:48 with my 9600K. After the "upgrade" to 9700KF, the same video is now running at 9:46! If I were a gamer, maybe that wouldn't be a problem. However, I will be returning this 9700KF promptly and buying either the 9700K or 9900K instead. Again, DO NOT buy the KF version of these chips if you are using Premiere Pro or any other editing software that can use multiple GPUs.

Pros
  • Intel Optane memory supported
Cons
  • Can't remember
