Driver issues are causing this device to revert to USB 2.0 speeds.

I'm not sure if this device actually has a USB 3.0 chip, I'll give the seller the benefit of the doubt and assume they didn't actually sell me the USB 2.0 chip in a prettier one and more expensive box. Anyway, it's not used on my machine. The chip may be so new that Microsoft hasn't added the high-speed drivers yet, or it may not be properly configured so they won't activate. You are limited to USB 2.0. USB 3.0 is completely disabled. The connector connects your devices perfectly. Protocol 2.0 does a great job on basic tasks like mouse/keyboard/charging. but if you actually tell it to move data: be it transferring large files, video from a webcam/screen capture card, or anything that requires it, it will choke if this problem isn't fixed. EDIT: So I checked and the internals work as follows: Ports -> Mystery Switching Circuit -> USB 3.0 Hub Circuit -> Front Ports Since these USB 3 hub chips are expensive, the manufacturer is as deluded as I am. You've paid for robust internals and spent time developing high-speed digital links, but it still doesn't work. TL;DR These guys need more quality control. They probably got a bad chip from their supplier and put it in my block.
