Light Weight, Full Face, Great Ventilation: 6 Months Update

6 Months Update ::: I used my TLD FF every time I skate which is 5 to 7 times a week in the last 6 years. Months. I was concerned about wear or flattening of the cheek pads. They flattened out and got dirty/sweaty. I washed them once and they almost regained their original shape. I bought this in the summer so I wanted it to be light and well ventilated (still the lightest on the market)! It's winter on the US East Coast so I used it up to 15F. I use a balaclava or lycra headband with a choker to keep warm. This works fine for me! I look "bad" in black underhood gear (sometimes it's better to look good than fall well :-). Skating hasn't caught on in my area so I'm very unique, skating at 15-20 mph my electronic board on the streets and trails. I WANT people to NOTICE me so they don't run over me or run over me. I added a small red USB brake light LED to the back for night time visibility. I attached a GO Pro mount for my camera and a 500 lumen ShredLight to the front visor. It's NOT if I spill, it's IF I spill or get hit... it's a fact of skating... looking forward to it. so I prepare properly…. I'm wearing. best knee pads, elbows, gloves, padded shorts and wrist guards (by Ennui) with hard outer shell and kevlar and velcro shells. You would be insane if you couldn't control what you can... the inherent risks that come with eSkating by using the best technology available. When people stop me to ask about my eSkating...after I've answered their questions, "How fast is it and how much does it cost?" I always move the conversation to a safe place and protect my head first. especially to children. That's why I spent $300 on a full TLD face. I've seen too many junkies on the FB forums shaking their jaws and losing all their teeth to a concussion.... Full face is the only way. My only concern is this TLD helmet, it's designed for pounding off-road. If I "instead" of the pavement (because I will someday), this helmet will slide or snag on the pavement, causing more damage to my neck or head. For this reason, some athletes like M bike helmets. Also, TSG Downhill makes a good helmet; Maybe I'll invest in a full face helmet next winter. Don't waste your time with Triple-8, Protect, DaKine or other open face skates...a waste of plastic and won't save your head at speeds over 10mph...I was happy with the performance. Excellent protective full face helmet and light weight. However very expensive.
