Review on πŸ’Ύ Sandisk Ultra USB Flash Drive 256 GB – High-Speed Data Storage, Black (SDCZ48-256G-A46) by Micha Borkowski ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not a bad product, quite normal quality.

One is 32 GB and the other two are 16 GB. I've been using a 32 GB flash drive for two years; it's formatted in NTFS; I've watched movies up to 27 GB in size on it by connecting it to a TV; nothing has frozen, the flash drive hasn't fallen off; the USB port, on the other hand, gets quite hot. but generally satisfactory, the speed does exhibit some oddities. For example, it logs the first 800 MB/s as 53 MB/s, but the remaining MB/s ranges from 17 MB/s to 20 MB/s. I've been recording movies into a 16 GB flash drive for the past two years. The most intriguing part is that I recently purchased three 16 GB flash drives, two of which turned out to be defective (I described the first one's issues above), and the third turned out to be faster than my own similar 16 GB flash drive, which is already two years old but still works at the same speed it did two years ago. The year 2022 is shared by both production years. If one flash drive records a 2.6 GB movie at a variable pace (say, between 6.5 and 11 Mb/s), while the other flash drive records the same movie at a steady 26 or 27 Mb/s, then it appears that a good copy has been made. A USB 3.0 port offers the full range of speeds. If you're interested, you can peruse the USB flash drive pictures I took as well as the usbflashinfo screenshots I grabbed, etc. Is this brand of flash drives something I would suggest?to support 16GB and 32GB of storage, respectively? If the TRANSCEND Jetflash 790 is not too much more expensive than this one and you can find a 16 GB version for no more than $340 and a 32 GB version for no more than $499 at a major retailer, then you should give it some consideration.

Pros
  • The cap is not included, and the flash drive's sliding mechanism is firmly fastened, so you may put your mind at ease. - Not terrible speed performance, but it seems to be case-specific, or I just got lucky. - When the 16 GB model is linked to a computer, a blue indicator light will fade and then turn on to let you know. - 5 year guarantee.
Cons
  • I bought two 16 GB flash drives, and when I tried to format one of them in NTFS, an error popped up saying that the disk was write-protected. Since then, every attempt to copy files to it, create new ones, format it to FAT32, etc., etc., has resulted in the same error message popping up every time. The 32 GB model lacks a status light. - The indicator light doesn't respond in any manner to changing files; it just blinks off and on.
