Review on ๐ŸŽ’ Thule 32L Crossover Backpack by Mark Gancio

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Decent backpack, the best in bags, cases and cases

I use my work backpack as a mobile office and often commute to work by bike or motorbike. I carry several pens and pencils, three key rings, three small panniers with various tools and keys, a laptop, a phone and a paper journal, and often other books and papers. I also need a place to throw extra things like a jacket, sweater, hat and gloves. This backpack is well designed and solidly built but lacks a few features and is a bit small for my use. I bought the crossover to replace my beloved 11 year old North Face Surge. After using it for about a month I would say the North Face was better (I can't confirm that later versions of the North Face are also better than the Crossover). The increase was 200-300ci more, which helps. The crossover has a smaller organizer pocket and no key leash. Where the North Face had two separate compartments, one large and one narrow for papers etc., plus a padded laptop compartment, Thule has a large compartment in addition to the laptop sleeve. Also, Thule's side pockets are a bit small and cramped for water bottles and other things I usually put in there. A hard case for sunglasses & co. is a smart idea, but getting things in and out isn't easy. On the plus side, although I haven't had it in the rain, the Thule sheds snow well. I like the outside pocket for stuff and the reflective elements. Again, Thule is a well-made bag that will suit many people. It's a bit small for me and lacks some features that others might not need.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
