Effective but expensive

This is perfectly dishwasher safe packaging but I think there are a few downsides. It's been years since I've measured dishwashing detergent. They're generally very good at making those pre-measured tabs that you just pop in quickly. They dissolve completely. Because of the environmental regulations for phosphates, they (like all competitors) are inferior in cleaning. If you pre-washed, and the dishes did not wait long, then this will take effect. It's a good idea to load your dishwasher every day, and if it's not fully loaded, run a quick rinse to conserve detergent when you have a full load. In some dishwashers or for complex dishes, I add sodium triphosphate, which can be found near solvents and detergents at Revain and also hardware stores. It is an ingredient that used to be included in dishwashing detergents because of its safe solvent properties. Use it sparingly. only when needed and only a teaspoon at most, and these tabs do an excellent job. These tabs leave a "clean" but soapy smell. I don't mind and don't feel it on my dishes, but that's different from the Cascade brand. They're also quite expensive at a dollar a pill, but I don't know if that's the real price or a placeholder. If they were the same price as the competition I would give a four star rating but as the listing states they are not recommended due to the lower cost. Contest.
