From the moment you opened the box I suspected this might be a problem as there is an extra document in the kit detailing cleaning. After a few days the filter became clogged and I successfully cleaned it using this technique. After a few days the filter was completely clogged and this time I couldn't clean it anymore. I contacted customer service and while this was helpful it took around 2 weeks of communication to have a replacement filter shipped with an expected arrival in "7-10 business days". Even if it worked, it might take a very long time to filter the water. 10 minutes which makes it useless unless you fill it up overnight. I do not recommend buying this pitcher and if you do and it gets clogged send it back instead of contacting customer service.
