Works but has limitations
This inexpensive replacement for an expensive Apple hard drive works but is not without the problems others have mentioned. My 2017 Macbook A1708 does not restart correctly with this drive adapter and hibernation no longer works. Also, it won't boot from the hard drive when my power cord is plugged into the rear Thunderbolt port. However, I use a 1TB SSD for a fraction of the cost of an Apple HD. I just shut down instead of rebooting and don't go to sleep. Anyway, I mostly run W10 Home via Bootcamp on this Mac. This is not a problem with the adapter, this is an official part from Apple. I knew what I was getting myself into.
