Error loading media. Bought in January 2020; Installed in March. Went down to the sound of rushing water last Saturday morning (22nd August). The bottom of one of the filter caps cracked and water poured out from under our kitchen sink - all night! Watch the video - the water soaked the kitchen floor including around the 220 volt stove outlet (which could catch fire) and then filled the ENTIRE BASEMENT with 1 inch of water! I don't even want to think about what it would be like if this happened while we were out for the whole day/weekend/holiday for a week. FWIW - I'm a 45-year-old mechanical engineer who has built military jet engines, auto parts and medical equipment for a living, and personally built cars and homes. Rest assured when I tell you this product is not designed properly. There is a press fit between the filter cartridge and the housing/cover. You don't notice it when assembling, because there is no stop when assembling. So what happens is this creates stresses in the plastic cap and combined with constant water pressure the cap will eventually EXPERIENCE EXACTLY THIS FAILURE MODE. I'm not the only one this has happened to - look for reviews and see others' experiences. It's exactly the same. When I called the "manufacturer" (it's just a two-family house in Denver. Google it: 777 N Downing St., Denver, Colorado), the owner (who pretends to be either "Robin" on the phone or "Jessie" answered me. " via email) that there is a new cap design (12 ribs instead of 6) that claims to be stronger. Well, I have a 12 rib design. That's no problem. The problem is as above. Save a lot of hassle, an insurance claim, and the headache of possible litigation (which we're after) and just don't buy it, I hope this helps someone else avoid this nightmare.
