Excellent bulbs. The bright white light is a huge improvement over the dim yellow bulbs Toyota fitted. The interior of the car no longer looks gloomy. I no longer need a flashlight in the glove compartment to read maps. But the installation is VERY complicated and time consuming. If you're an impatient amateur prone to cussing out of frustration, this isn't for you. In its 2,567-page owner's manual, Toyota gives no instructions on how to change a light bulb. And the lightbulb salesman doesn't give instructions, which is understandable because those would be as long as Moby Dick. In the past, you broke off the lamp base, unscrewed the old light bulb, screwed in the new light bulb and that was it. My RAV4's only easy-to-change lightbulb is in the trunk. The vanity light, map light (you'll have to pull out that whole big black housing!) and rear dome light are a tricky puzzle, and the thin plastic housings are easy to shatter, leaving the lamp housings dangling loosely on wires. . You know that spare parts are expensive. YouTube videos are sparse and vague, and a YouTube "expert" admits he damaged the flashlight's casing when installing the bulbs. I worked on this for hours and somehow managed to get the job done without major damage (one of the old lightbulbs shattered into tiny pieces all over my face when I took it off). To replace the license plate bulbs you will need pliers to unscrew the case. If you're a normal person, even if you've been changing car lightbulbs your whole life, take them to your dealership or mechanic and pay them to have these wonderful bulbs installed!
