I have to admit that I bought this spotting scope without great expectations. A friend works for an optical company and his ranges are in the $1500-$2500 range. To be honest, I have nothing to complain about in terms of the quality of the optics. I was a little surprised that the tripod was just a tiny tabletop tripod that could barely stand up to the scope. I actually bought it to save money by connecting my iPhone X-Plus to it instead of buying a regular camera, so I'm happy with the picture quality. It's fairly easy to align the iPhone's camera with the scope using the included adapter, but the adapter doesn't fit the scope snugly so it moves when I let go of it. But for the price I paid (about $180), I'm pretty happy. I'm looking forward to putting a real tripod on it and taking it to the field. (Update: Took a "moon shot" last night to demonstrate this. There was more detail in the eyepiece, but again, holding the camera made it difficult to get all the detail.)
