I am quite happy with this lens although the price seems high. It's sharp, well-built, close-focused (about 4 inches from the front lens), and wide. It resists glare fairly well, but not completely; and lens distortion is minimal and easily corrected with software. The lens is heavy, although not as heavy as it could be if the barrel were metal rather than composite. Focusing is mute, which is a bit disorienting at first. It has good center sharpness wide open, but I've seen evidence that its sharpness in the corners isn't equal to a 20mm Minolta Prime lens at f/2.8 ([.]). If sharpness is more important than versatility, a Minolta lens might be a better choice.
