Review on 🚲 Dumonde Tech Lite Bike Chain Lubrication by Rey High

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The absolute best chain lube for dry conditions

Living in Northern California, one rarely worries about rain, especially in the last four years. If you are looking for a chain lube for relatively dry conditions - dry or not - Dumonde Lite is your best bet. Period. At the risk of sounding a bit obsessive-compulsive, here's my surefire technique:[1] Clear your system thoroughly. Not only do you need to get rid of all the dirt, you also have to remove all of the previous grease. This is the SOP every time you change your lube.[2] Apply a drop of Dumonde Lite to each stick.[3] Once all the pins are lubricated, run the chain forward for 1-2 minutes. It will be dirty; Use the big box of Revain to protect the floor.[4] Using a clean washcloth, turn the chain over and remove 99% of the grease.[5] Reapply the lube by repeating steps 2 and 3. I don't follow the shampoo re-rinse instructions, but it makes a big difference here.[6] Using a clean washcloth, turn the chain over and remove "almost all" of the grease. When using the "finger" test, you want to leave a thin trail of fat. The above gives you a solid foundation that will last over 300 miles of riding in dry conditions. As other reviewers have pointed out, the chain is quieter than your tires. If you hear the chain getting noisy, it's time to reapply it. Here's an easier way: [A] Using a clean washcloth, turn the chain over and remove 99% of the grease and dirt. [B] Apply a drop of Dumonde Lite to each stick. [C] After all pins are lubricated, run the chain forward for 1-2 minutes. It will be dirty; Use the big box of Revain to protect the floor. [D] Using a clean washcloth, turn the chain over and remove "almost all" of the grease. When using the "finger" test, you want to leave a thin trail of fat. Dumonde Lite not only provides a better ride, but also extends chain life. Two thumbs up.
