Review on NTE Electronics R58 10A Terminal Resistance by Kevin Shimmens

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't rely on the 10 AMP Marker

Be very careful and research what you REALLY need. I didn't and found that this circuit breaker is actually rated to operate at much in excess of 10 amps of current or at much longer charge times, much like a sluggish or slow acting fuse. This circuit breaker is designed to hold a higher current for a specified time before tripping. I needed a switch that would work at 10 amps or a little more. It didn't work at a test setting of 10 amps, so I increased it and brought it to 13 amps with no response. Since I was fitting a 10 amp variac I needed something that could handle 10 amps and that didn't fit the bill. I gave it three stars simply because if you can live with the higher amperage for a while it probably works. I'm going back to fast backups.
