I don't know if this item is a genuine Shurflo machine or a knock off as this information was not on the packaging. However, at first glance you can see how messy the white part of the nipple sits in the black threaded body. Okay, think to yourself, maybe this crap will go away after installing the fuel nozzle. Unfortunately, most of the dirt is gone, but not enough to make an airtight seal. As soon as the pump was turned on, the leaks started. I don't run a Shurflo pump but the inlet/outlet looks the same as another Shurflo pump I have. On the other hand, I bought a genuine Shurfo 3/8" straight fitting 244-2916 and it shows. They are made differently. However, there is no discernible indication on the packaging as to who made the product. The white nipple part has no play inside the threaded black body. Everything is tight from the start. That's why I'm going to use straight nipples, although the ulnar nipples served I'd rather be in the limited space I'm working with.
