I bought a metal worm gear for macro focusing. It's a solid, well-built device and the measurements appear to be accurate. The only downside in my opinion is that yes it fits Swiss Arca clamps but there is no screw stop so I found that as soon as I loosened the knob on my ball head which was at a slight angle it slipped out completely! Luckily my camera wasn't connected at the time. Also, I wish the adjustment knobs on the rail were on the sides rather than either end, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Otherwise I like the track.
