Used for general macro photography, absolutely stable and does not wobble. But if you want to get an extreme focus stack with it, I think you can spend a little more money to find a better one.

It's not easy to adjust them or get the insect to stay put, but if you want to create a focus stack or just want to predict the focus level, this is great. The adjustment is fixed and can be done in small steps. I bought this after having another one that also moved from side to side (but didn't hold the position). I recommend this model as durable and easy to use.

I bought a metal worm gear for macro focusing. It's a solid, well-built device and the measurements appear to be accurate. The only downside in my opinion is that yes it fits Swiss Arca clamps but there is no screw stop so I found that as soon as I loosened the knob on my ball head which was at a slight angle it slipped out completely! This product is absolutely useless for macro photography and focus stacking. I wasn't expecting much from this rail since it was cheaper, but I certainly wasn't expecting as much horizontal movement as the rail moves back and forth every half mm. Every time you turn the knob forward or backward, the image moves side to side so much that you can't rely on the software to straighten the photos for you.
