Not suitable for macro photography

This product is absolutely useless for macro photography and focus stacking. I wasn't expecting much from this rail since it was cheaper, but I certainly wasn't expecting as much horizontal movement as the rail moves back and forth every half mm. Every time you turn the knob forward or backward, the image moves side to side so much that you can't rely on the software to straighten the photos for you. In fact, using a focus guide should make aligning photos easier, not more difficult. At first I thought it was focus breathing, but if I move the image half a millimeter, it shifts to the left, then I move it another half millimeter. and it shifts to the right again. It can't be focused breathing, it's more like a poorly made splint. I intend to return this product for a refund.
