Insole doesn't fit

These shoes are cute but when my kid tried to put them on she complained that the inside was uncomfortable. I checked twice and the insole doesn't line the full length of the shoe. There is a gap of about a centimeter near the toe where there is no lining. It's too tiring to carry. This was of course discovered a week after the return window closed. Would like better quality control.
