Update: Received replacement very quickly! This microphone is fantastic. So smooth, so natural. Although it comes pre-configured and ready for plug-and-play, it responds well to EQ changes and, like other mids, is easy to work with. The shock absorber is fur. Looks good. Nice. But blue mounts are known for their shorter lifespans. Don't let that stop you from buying this amazing microphone. We are waiting for a replacement. The first has an unpleasant hum at a frequency of 100 Hz and below. I have cheap mics that don't hum as much. The packaging was sealed so no crappy return, it came that way from the manufacturer. Tried different cables, preamps, etc. Nothing good. I will update as soon as I have a replacement. Without the hum, this would be one of the most natural sounding buttery mics I've heard. Not in the face and not assertive, yes I look at you SM7B and NT1. If your mix is clipping, you'll need to tweak it a bit, but this is an easy fix.
