I used to go to my local auto parts store and get a scanner to read my car's fault code. Simple enough, but this $17 reader promised to do the same (their readers are usually $30 or more). I tried it and I'm glad I did. This reader has the same basic functions and is easy to use. Tested on 3 machines (USA, Asia and Euro). Neither of them had a light on and the reader worked on all three cars, confirming the absence of active codes. 1) I couldn't watch the tutorial video mentioned in the manual, but I don't have to. I didn't contact support for a link either. 2) It doesn't say how the reader captures the still image, maybe it would be obvious if I had the actual code to read. This is a nice feature, but since the device is powered via an OBDII connection, you can't unplug the device, take it somewhere and get an error code. I gave 5 stars based on value. It's a basic reader, it works, it's simple, and if I need more advanced diagnostics (and I might still want that), all the others I've looked at cost over $100+. For 17โฌ I'm satisfied.
