Noticeable coil whine (updated)

Purchased for my 2017 13" MacBook Pro which includes a 61w charger. Both are confirmed to charge at the same rate. Downgraded to 3 stars due to a noticeable coil whine (high noise) coming from the charger when the laptop is plugged in. A drawback if you want to charge your laptop next to you while you fall asleep.Upgraded from 3 to 4 stars: Nekteck offered to send me a replacement with the Reasoning that the coil whine is considered a defect.Upon receiving the replacement I immediately noticed that the replacement had red USB connectors while my first one was black.Comparing the model numbers everything else matched. After connecting both, noticed i noticed a difference in the number of coils whistling but although it was quiet it still existed in the new mod matters i had to j yet have very close to me to hear it (1-2 feet). I could hear the original 4-5 feet away. For comparison, I did the same with an original Apple charger and it's completely silent. In general, after replacing it, I can put this charger on my desk or next to my bedside table and I can't hear it from that distance. For the price compared to Apple plus 3 extra ports and Nekteck's responsiveness I would recommend this charger to people looking to save money. If you can afford the familiar chargers there might be quiet ones, but if you look at them they cost at least twice as much.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • too dull
