Color variety is great my dog had a litter of 8 puppies all Chocolate Labs so I couldn't tell them apart. The collars helped identify them and allowed new owners to choose them with the knowledge that they would get the pup of their choice. What I don't like about these particular collars is the velcro closure. At first I thought it would be nice to be able to easily adjust the sizes, but the puppies kept sticking together so either the puppies' collars came loose and stuck to the other pup, or they squeaked until you unplugged them. Next time I would go for a non-velcro collar.
